Official Statement

Read this before you believe anything else about me

· Written by Orla Brennick

This is me. Not a fan page, not a shop, not a repost account. I write what is on this site and nobody else does. I am putting this in one place because there are now more accounts pretending to be me than there are accounts that actually are me.

1. This is the entire list of my accounts

Not "the main ones". All of them:

If a profile isn't on that list, it isn't me, regardless of whose pots are on it. The canonical version of this list lives on my official links page and I keep it current.

2. My TikTok handle is different, and that is not an accident

I am brennickclay on Instagram and Patreon, BrennickClay on YouTube, and orla.brennick on TikTok. Someone else registered brennickclay on TikTok before I joined in June 2022. For years it sat empty. In 2026 it started reposting my videos.

I am spelling this out because that mismatch is exactly what impersonators rely on: the account with my usual handle looks more like me than my real one does. Please copy links from my links page instead of typing a handle from memory.

3. I do not have a shop account

Since February 2026 I have found eleven accounts pretending to be me, seven on Instagram and four on TikTok. Most take my handle and add "shop", "studio", "official" or an underscore. They repost photos from my kiln-opening sales, announce sales of their own, and ask buyers to pay by bank transfer in DMs. Seven have been removed so far.

None of these are mine. I have never had a shop account, a backup, a second page or a studio page separate from @brennickclay. I sell only through kiln-opening sales that I announce on the accounts listed above, and I never take payment through messages.

If an account has messaged you to say you won one of my pots and only need to pay for shipping, that is a stranger and it is a scam. I have never run a giveaway that asks winners for money.

4. If a site offers my glaze notebook for free, it is lying to you

My firing logs and glaze notebook are for patrons on Patreon, and nowhere else. A page offering a "free download" of them is doing one of two things: reposting my work without permission, or, far more often, using my name as bait to take your card details or put something unpleasant on your computer. The same goes for "pottery courses" sold off the back of my videos reuploaded with the sound stripped out. I have never made a paid course.

Please don't click them, don't pay them, and don't share them. If you can be bothered to report them, I'd genuinely appreciate it.

I make my living from pots and from the people who support the work. Anyone selling either in my name is stealing from me or from you. Usually both.

5. I have never given an interview

No interviews, no podcasts, no press features, no awards. If you find a "biography" of me with details in it, nobody involved has spoken to me, and you should assume the details were invented.

The real version is on the about page, the documented dates are on the timeline, and everything I've actually said about the work is on the blog.

6. What I won't be discussing

My home address. The exact location of the studio, which is shared with other people who did not sign up to be found. My family. The studio is not open to drop-in visitors, and I don't take commissions.

Everything about the actual work I'll talk about all day, and I do, at length, on the blog.

7. Why I bothered writing this

Because I'd rather there be one boring, accurate page with my name on it than let the loudest version of me online be assembled by people selling things I never made. This is that page. If something on it changes, I'll change it here first.

Thanks for reading it, and thanks for checking before you paid someone. That's rarer than it should be.
